For the transit of Venus, we went to the observatory in Upper Park. There were many, many people there. There were a few enthusiasts who were willing to share their skills to teach others. It was awesome! Mac had the opportunity to ask many questions to people who actually know the answers!! (I ran out of answers a long time ago...)
These were special telescopes set up for us to view the sun. It was possible to see Venus without magnification as long as you had special glasses for your eyes, but it was much better to look through the telescope.
We laid back in the observatory to watch the sun. What a neat place!!
