Run for Food

This Thanksgiving we did the Run for Food.  It was my first 5K.  It was the last item on my Resolution list.  Yeah!  I didn't run the whole time.  It was tricky.  When we first started, I couldn't run because there were so many people.  Then, I had to run faster than my normal pace to get around people.  So, it was frustrating.  But, I had a great time.  It was a really  nice way to spend the morning.  Spencer stayed with me the whole time, even though he's much faster.  It was raining, so we got drenched.
Here we are at the end.  Jaycee did the race too!  She is AWESOME!!  I hope we do it again next year, only with our kids.

Monsters!

Aidan had a performance at the Chico Theater Company.  He was in Monsters.  His dad, Jake, was a producer.  He grew out his hair for his part as a werewolf.  So, I've been waiting and waiting to see how he looked in the part.  He was AWESOME!  I laughed and had so much fun watching the show.  Good work Aidan!!

Turkey Trot 2011

This year I was able to go to the Turkey Trot at Maddie's school.  The kids do it every year before Thanksgiving.  They make these adorable hats and then go and run through the park nearby.
It was a beautiful day!  We even saw turkeys in the park.
This is Maddie and her best friend Madeleine.  They are super cute together!
Happy Thanksgiving!

Mac & John

This is a post just to show what a nice big brother Macky is.  It's really important to him that John likes to play with him, so Macky works hard at it.  Here he's a horse and John is a cowboy.  John loves it.

John's Hair-do

John decided to comb his own hair.  That strip of white down his head is gel.

Grampie's Leaves

We don't have very many leaves at our house.  What we do have seems to end up in the pool!  So, we like to go to Grampie's house to help rake his yard.  He has plenty of leaves for us to work with!  Mac really liked using the outdoor vacuum to suck up some of those leaves.  The kids all wanted to use it.  Mac also mowed Grampie's lawn for the first time.  It was fun to watch him do it, it reminded me of Stephen.
John loved playing in the leaves.  Grampie had a special small rake for him to use.
Maddie loves to throw the leaves which is a bit counterproductive, but fun.

Grampie is teaching Ryan to wet down the pile of leaves so that the pile won't blow away.

Macky & Rope & Camera

One afternoon, when banned from screens, Mac decided to get out a rope and fool around.  He and Maddie had a blast using the rope in the backyard.  They also figured out how to use the camera to take pictures and make videos.  It was really nice to see them having fun together for such a long period of time!
