Macky Is 11!

Mac woke up very early on Saturday, the 26th.  It was his birthday and he wanted to open his gifts.  I told him NO WAY!  He went stomping out of the room, saying disgustedly, "This is just like Christmas."  Eventually he got to open his gifts.  He got some nice books and a special book light that he can use in his bed when John is asleep.

Then we were off to soccer.  Ryan was very excited to get to play goalie.  He didn't realize that he got to use his hands, but he had lots of fun!

 After soccer, I took Mac and his buddy Dallin out to lunch.  Mac got sushi, Dallin and I did not.  Mac LOVES sushi.  Then we went over to play miniature golf and air hockey.  Those boys are seriously competitive.  I had to hide the scorecard!  It turned out to be a very fun day!  I can't believe that Mac is already 11!!

Snow Day!

Snow came to Chico!  It was amazing.  On the way to school near 8 AM there was an actually snow storm.  There were huge flakes descending upon us.  They did not stick, but they were fun to watch.  The kids at school were going nuts trying to catch them on their tongues and in their hats.  That afternoon we had a serious hail/snow storm, where some did stick.  Above is our back patio.

Maddie was overjoyed!  She danced and ran around in it in the back yard.  She even managed some snow balls!!

Arrow of Light

Macky earned his Arrow of Light.  This is the highest honor in Cub Scouting.  His leaders worked hard with him.  Thank you Elaine!  He is so excited now to move on to Boy Scouts.  The photo above is of him giving me the Arrow of Light pin.

This is Elaine hugging Macky and taking him to the ceremony.  Mac felt a little silly as he was the only one and they were making a BIG deal about it.  But, I loved it!!  He felt really special and now Ryan wants to be a Cub Scout so bad he can taste it!

John is 2!

 We celebrated John's birthday a day early.  Our new friend, Wang Lu was introduced to American birthdays!  She got John a cute airplane for his birthday, and he loves it.

 Maddie helped John open every gift.  We ate spaghetti with meatballs for dinner and then opened the gifts.

 My cake was a bit lopsided, but John didn't care.  He wasn't quite sure what to do with those candles, but he figured it out!

He knows just what to do with cake!  Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Jeff came to celebrate with us too.  John had a great night.  I'm so glad he's 2!

Hurricanes

 Ryan had his first soccer game last Saturday.  I was a proud Mama!  I just love to watch little boys play and run.  The weather was perfect!!  Ryan is number 5 and his team name is the "Hurricanes."  I think that is a fantastic name for him!!
