Camp Gud Klein Fun - Day 3

Bright and early Saturday morning, Spencer and Macky went to do some deep sea fishing.  Spencer had been sick, but he really wanted to do this with Macky.  Unfortunately, after they got out on the boat, the captain decided that the weather was too bad.  They were back by 11 without being able to fish.  Oh well, maybe next year...

So, we went to the beach again.  I went this time.  It was super windy.  I couldn't believe the children were playing in the water.  It was so fun to relax and chit chat.  I LOVE the beach.

This was how we bathed the little ones.  Ryan loved it.  He got all nice and warm.  It was hard to get him out when he was all clean!

We went into Fort Bragg for dinner and fireworks.  We ate the best pizza and this fun crowded local shop.  Then we headed to the cliffs for the show!  I really love being an Auntie.  It's exceptional.

This is the area where we sat.  The weeds were so much fun to play in!

It was cold.  I cuddled with whoever I could!!

This is my first attempt at a sunset shot.

So, we got their before sunset and had a while to wait.  Spencer decided to play sardines with the kids in the weeds.  This is where one person hides and all of the others try to find him.  Once you find him, you hide along too until everyone has found him.  The kids had a blast.  We had 13 kids all on our own, but next thing you know Spencer had rounded up a bunch of extras too.  There's never too many!  This is a picture of everyone counting, while one person hides.

The fireworks were great.  If I had to do it again, I would take more blankets.  The traffic wasn't too bad, but the drivers were CRAZY.  We got to talk with some firefighters and they gave us Smokey the Bear bookmarks.  Awesome!!

Camp Gud Klein Fun - Day 2

There was an awesome park in our campground!  We went there first thing Friday morning.

Next a bunch of people hit Caspar Beach, which was just outside our campground.

Don't let the kids fool you, it was freezing!!

This was so gross!!

After they all got back, we found Aidan in a tree.  Can you see him?
I brought stuff from home to make bug jars for the kids.  The girls made them.  The boys didn't decorate so much, but they did use the jars.  One jar was FULL of slugs.  EW!

Mac, Ethan, and Aidan worked on this tree.  They hollowed it out and had a great time doing it!

There was a stream right next to our camp that the kids loved to play in.  Ryan splashed around and tried to keep up with the big boys.

The big boys caught stuff like this:
John worked very hard to get around camp.  The uneven surfaces were tricky, but he made it with a little help.

Camp Gud Klein Fun - Day 1

For our big family vacation this summer we hit the road and went to Casper Beach!  We went with the Carrs, Crowthers, and Stapfs.  We were having so much fun in the car, I had to take a few shots.  No one threw up!
Maddie and Mac were good to each other in the backseat.  It was a summer vacation miracle!

Once we arrived at the Casper Beach RV park, we made our way to the group camp at the end, aka "The Back Circle."
We popped up the tents as quickly as possible, with everyone pitching in.

As soon as possible everyone set out to explore our surroundings.  Spencer went in search of firewood.  He quickly found stinging nettles.  Those are NO FUN.
Ethan caught fish (and other creatures) with his BARE hands!
Maddie, Bonnie, and Ryan made themselves comfortable inside the tent.  They colored and played.
The Crowthers came a little later.  This is Alison with her cousin Lily.  So cute!
We had a great meal made for us by the Carrs and had great fun around the campfire.  Spencer started to get sick and had a fairly miserable night.  The raccoons came out and we had to be very careful with our food overnight.
